Take the challenge for Homeless Persons’ Week

  • Written by  Ian Anderson

Take the 7 Day Challenge:

TUESDAY 5th – FREE TICA CHECK
A free check with the Tenancy History Database. 10:00am – 2:00pm At the Salvation Army, Bell Street.

WEDNESDAY 6th – DO THE TWO CAN
Donate non-perishable food to the Basement Soup Kitchen. All donations can be taken to your local Woolworths store.

THURSDAY 7th – SIP FOR A SWAG
Buy a coffee from Wendlands Olives, Shop 1, 76 Bridge Street; Bounce, 488 Ruthven Street; Pump@Wyalla, Wyalla Plaza, Taylor St; or Kingfishers Cafe at 333 Spring Street. $1 from each cup of coffee purchased will go towards purchasing swags for the homeless.

11am – 2pm: 20% of all purchases made from Blue Illusions Shop 14, Level 1, Grand Central Shopping Centre will go towards The BASE Soup Kitchen

FRIDAY 8th – HOMELESS PERSONS’ BBQ & EXPO

SATURDAY 9th – SLEEPLESS IN TOOWOOMBA
On any given night in Australia 1 in 200 people are homeless. Go without your bed for the night. Sleep on your couch, in the backyard or wherever.
